romp: (v.) to play or frolic

The romper is officially my must-have piece for summer. If only it hadn't taken me until August to figure this out... Despite loving the look on celebrities and fashionistas, my own venture into romerdom was hindered, likely by memories of the awful bib-front, snap-crotch terrycloth versions of my early childhood. I finally bought this ultra-soft American Apparel Tri-Blend Halter for lounging around the apartment. It seemed like a safe environment to reintroduce the style to my arsenal. The comfort and convenience made it an instant favorite to throw on when unwinding from a long day or rolling out of bed on lazy weekends (and it's a whole lot cuter than, say, ratty sweatpants or a tattered robe). It was only a matter of time and one very hot day before I was tempted take it out on the town. All I needed was a favorite pair of gold Guess heels to transition this from pretty and playful grub garb to sassy and sexy street style -- effortless chic for rooftop parties, afternoon dates, or marathon shopping on Newbury Street. Isn't that what summer's about?
