In Japan there is a small group of young women who wear "black face" makeup. It is not meant to be racist. They just think it is beautiful and unique and so do I.
The "Gal" Style is full of neon, bright colors, bleached "blond" hair, and over-tanning (or gratuitous use of bronzer). Personally, I find it unattractive, but it seems quite popular in
Harajuku and Shibuya where all the young people hang out. It's unique, but I certainly don't find it attractive.
