I have a strange affinity for all things nautical...when I came across this gorgeous dress I HAD to have it. The dress is from Kohls ( believe it or not) from the little girl's section. The white wrap is Betsey Johnson, a gift from a good friend. The little red flats are from Target.

As soon as I saw this dress from the H&M ads, I knew I wanted it. The skirt is much fuller on me than it looked on the model, but if I had my way, I would dress like I was from the 50's all the time, so I don't mind the retro feeling. Waiting for my beige/nude heels to come in the mail to match it, but just couldn't resist taking a picture =).

A look I put together tonight using one of my favourite dress brands, Moschino, and a few accessories that I felt were in keeping with the retro feel of the dress.

The look could easily work through the daytime with a change to bag and earrings, and I love this watch pendant. I did not want a shorter necklace, as I wanted the neck lines of the dress to remain relatively open and simple. I love the retro feel of the fabrics and ruffles, and decided to pair this with some cute polka dot pumps, keeping the colour scheme streamlined and instead letting the textures and personality of each item do the talking.

Hopefully it works as well as I would hope, but personally? I would loooove to own this look!
