As so many lyrics tell us It is better to burn out than fade away. But is it true that rock stars who created the soundtrack for most of our craziest deeds burning out faster than the rest of us? Are they burning the candle at both ends and thereby leaving this world still in their prime?

I've already gotten to tell you what I think about rock biopic The Runaways, with Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, but now it's time to hear from the stars and the others behind the scenes of the movie. Pop chatted up Kristen Stewart on the red carpet in NYC, but we also have some choice words from its inspiration Joan Jett, costar Michael Shannon, and director Floria Sigismondi.
- Joan Jett on the message of the film: Ultimately, to follow your dreams.

Picture this: it's 1975. The airwaves are dominated by the likes of David Bowie, The Eagles, and the Bee Gees. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, a rock group — made up entirely of teenage girls — explodes onto the scene.

Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart joined The Runaways director Floria Sigismondi last night for a screening in Austin as a part of the SXSW Film Festival. Dakota and Kristen have been all over the country promoting their film with a premiere in LA last week before Wednesday night's big NYC event with Joan Jett and Cherie Currie, where both of the young stars opened up to us about their work on the movie. Their tour will come to a close with the project's opening today, and we'll see if Kristen and Dakota fare better at the box office than Robert Pattinson's recent non-Twilight effort — check out what Buzz thinks of Dakota and Kristen's turns as teenage rock stars.

When I was a kid, I pretty much worshiped anyone who starred on Nickelodeon. The kids from Salute Your Shorts and Hey Dude not only made me laugh, but it also seemed like they had a lot more fun than I was having at school. I never considered how their sweet lives were affecting their bank accounts.

It's always nice to talk about the finer things in life, you know, Bowie, vintage, denim, rock 'n roll, ch-ch-ch-ch-Cherry Bombs. The Runaways, starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, hits theaters Friday. Chronicling the all-girl rock band from the '70s, we'll witness the early start of Joan Jett and her rockin' entourage.

Until Sept. 9, I'm fairly sure I won't not be freaking out about every little tidbit of information on Beatles Rock Band, and the following is no exception: Kotaku reports that the game will feature an all-singing mode.
This news comes after previous rumors of a Singstar version with Beatles songs, which have also been dispelled.
