It's time for all of us to step in and help on this one. A friend was recently diagnosed with an eye infection and has to wear her glasses for two weeks — starting today. That means she has to wear them on Halloween.

Normally, the gadgets and tech accessories featuring Hello Kitty are a little sweet for my taste; I don't want anyone mistaking me for an underage girl by the looks of my HK Laptop.
Thankfully, the purveyors of the girly cartoon cat have made something a little more grownup: the Hello Kitty Geek Chic Tee (on sale for $10).
It's obvious why I like the shirt — its message and geeksugar's tagline are one and the same — but I'm finding myself utterly charmed by Kitty wearing her black-rimmed nerd glasses.

I'm always amazed at how the perfect styling job can transform simple pieces into treasures. Corey Lynn Calter's Spring look book has that kind of powerful styling. A floral mini skirt, for example, is cute, but when paired with a green dotted tank top and metallic gold Oxfords, it instantly comes to life.

This week's Chuck begins 100 miles east of Barstow at Chuck's father's trailer. It ends with some revelations — some surprising, some maybe less so by now — about Chuck's family history and his future as the Intersect. Also, it makes pancakes seem like the saddest food ever.

To round out a day of jokes on April Fools' Day, CBS's I Get That a Lot prank show featured celebrities working regular-guy jobs and pretending to not be their recognizable selves. My favorite was Jessica Simpson as IT, helping out customers with support for their Macs at a place called Mac Enthusiast. Of course, she acts just as ditzy as you'd expect, and is actually quite funny.

If you were thinking the Christmas installment of Chuck would be goofy and funny and light, you probably had another think coming by about the halfway point of this week's episode. When a car crashes into the Buy More, it first appears that the Nerd Herders — and last-minute shoppers like Ellie and Awesome — are just being held hostage by a rather incompetent criminal. But the whole incident soon takes a more sinister turn, so if you're ready to talk about it, just read more

After I chatted up Samantha Ronson about what software she runs on her MacBook Pro at the TechCrunch50/MySpace party, I made my way around the Mezzanine — okay, I'll admit it. I was looking to see if LL was hiding somewhere in the crowd – and overheard some pretty interesting (and totally geeky) pickup lines.
The party was certainly a single girl's dream - with about 95 percent of the attendees being of the male persuasion - so although I'm not surprised that there was lots of flirting going on, I was totally amused by what I heard.

When a flying snowball pelted the dude below, one of the lenses in his glasses took the hit and broke. Whoops! Not only did nerd boy take this super serious flyby snowballing case to court, he made an animated 3-D reenactment of the "crime" to give the judge and viewers at home some sense of the pain and trauma he endured that dreadful day.
