I've been really into running (and walking) stairs lately, but it can get a little tedious so I found a way to switch it up while still doing the stairs. All you have to do is add Skater Steps into your workout. Here's how:
- Stand facing stairs.
- Start by stepping your right foot onto the right edge side of first step.
- Then push off of your right foot and step onto your left foot to the left edge side of next step.

These clips of women skateboarding and falling (from the documentary "AKA: Girl Skater" on the rise of girl skateboard subcultures) hurt just to watch. "No pain, no gain," they may tell me. "No pain, no pain" is my philosophy.

This babe's still in diapers and he's got enough balance to hold his own on a skateboard? I'm impressed. This 16-month-old has mastered the skills of balancing, squatting and jumping.

This afternoon I was lucky enough to participate in an interview session with the most decorated American athlete in Winter Olympic history — seven-time medalist Apolo Ohno. The speed skater was nice enough to field questions live via Twitter from his 100,000+ followers (including me!) before heading back onto the ice to train. Gotta love technology!

Renee Zellweger and Reese Witherspoon stepped out in purple last night to celebrate the opening of Vera Wang's new LA boutique. The ladies were joined by a fresh from Milan Fashion Week Rachel Zoe, her husband Rodger Berman, and Mila Kunis, who was stunning in her latest black look. Figure skater Evan Lysacek was there to support Vera after she designed his Olympic costumes, and he posed for a few photos with fellow gold medalist Bruce Jenner.

This style of barrette always reminds me of the Olympics, because it seemed to be the preferred hair accessory of gymnasts and figure skaters everywhere. While you've probably worn old-school contoured barrettes much like the ones pictured here on the right, they probably weren't ones of such enormous proportions. Adia Kibur's Jumbo Hair Clips are available in both black and gold ($15 each), and are an easy way to make an oversized statement.

"I think exercise tests us in so many ways, our skills, our hearts, our ability to bounce back after setbacks. This is the inner beauty of sports and competition, and it can serve us all well as adult athletes."
— Peggy Fleming, American figure skating Olympic gold medalist.
